Once upon a time there was a market...
And here we are again talking about the favorite topic of the community: the market!
Today we will examine the market trend of the last few days using as a reference for our analysis the auctions that took place on the most active facebook group: BITMONDS GLOBAL MARKET (AUCTION)
Let's start from a fundamental point: the market is really in a big crisis right now, the reasons for this fact are multiple, let's try to analyze the main ones.
The unnerving wait for the news announced by Vanilla Rocket, for over a month now we have been waiting impatiently for the reopening of the generations, the frustration increases and the mistrust tends to increase: as an effect the Bitmonds are sold at discount prices worthy of the best outlets, buyers are unmotivated to spend even half of what they would have invested without problems up to a month ago. A striking example of this concerns an auction for one Bitmonds which is one of the collectors favourite colors of the first collection: a Maranello D2 auctioned for 170 euros on which no one decided to offer.
The second point concerns the high instability of the market: as I have often repeated in previous articles, the Bitmonds platform is not yet ready to host the market, so Facebook groups are now acting as a real marketplace. The fact is that a small number of all users enrolled in the Bitmonds project are active on these groups, as a result the liquidity is really low, therefore after the great activity in the month of January a physiological drop for such a young and illiquid market was all predictable. In fact, the drastic fall in prices linked to the high value Bitmonds has completely devalued the lower value Bitmonds. An example is this Lotus from the first collection sold at a final price lower than the generation cost!
The third point I would like to discuss is related to the first two: what are the effects of this long waiting and mistrust on the community? They certainly take away a lot of motivation both to invest and to want to involve new people in the project, so if new people do not enter the market, the liquidity remains unchanged and there cannot be an increase in the activity of buying, selling and trading. On the other hand new people maybe fascinated by the project, not having the opportunity to start generating their own Bitmonds, will hardly start to partecipate into some negotiations. So this third point, which is strongly linked to the first two, concerns a fundamental aspect: the entry of new people into the world of Bitmonds.
In fact, I'm going to conclude by showing an auction in which even one Bitmonds considered rare is having big problems to be sold: look for example at this beautiful Chardonnay auctioned at a starting price of 50 euros which has not yet received any offers yet....
These are, in my opinion, three reasons why we are witnessing this crisis in the Bitmonds market. Obviously all these reasons are closely connected, and the fundamental point around which they develop lies in the long wait to get the project back with all its available features.
